With the rising temperatures and the holiday season upon us, you are probably taking a look at your wardrobe and planning a shopping trip or two to add some extra pieces in order to make it summer ready. Where to start?
There are always lots of summer fashion trends which you may or may not be comfortable with but today I am going to give you four easy items you can wear and how to do so in an original way.
Running shoes
If you are a gym enthusiast or a runner, here is the opportunity to mix your favourite trainers with your day wear! Trainers are known for being fresh, breathable and versatile which makes them perfect for easy styling during the hotter months. Combine colourful running shoes with nice and elegant sportswear for women that you can find online for a sporty look, wear with a midi dress for a Lily Allen-esque edgy statement or simply with jeans and a t-shirt.
Slide sandals
If you prefer less restrictive footwear in the summer and don’t think you might be walking a lot, then slide sandals are for you. This season’s chicest flop flops can be found in rubber or leather and can be embellished with buckles, straps and all manner of sparkly bits. Your feet will thank you for letting them out in this hot weather! Create your ultimate beach look by combining draping cover-ups with cut off shorts and slip your feet into some comfortable and stylish sliders. Just don’t forget to apply suncream to your toes.
Belt pack
You are probably aghast at the idea that a belt pack (or bum bag as they were called when I was younger!), as a stylish addition to your summer wardrobe but there is much to be said for these handy bags which are perfect for keeping your phone, wallet, keys and such close without the need for bulky pockets or handbags. In fact, they are coming back big time. Instead of securing the bag around your waist, turn it into a crossbody by tossing it across your chest for an up to date look.
Baseball hat
People underestimate the intensity of the sun these days; it is not only hot but it can lead to a red face if you’re exposed to it for long periods which just isn’t good for your skin. Reaching for a baseball hat is a good way of keeping the sun out of your eyes and off of your face. Pair jeans, a graphic tee, pretty flats and a baseball hat for a casual holiday look or team your baseball hat with a t-shirt dress and sneakers and put the hat on backwards for an even more relaxed holiday vibe.
