Bed Peace: The Battle of Yohn and Joko

A few months ago I enjoyed a night out at The Orchard Theatre in Dartford celebrating the Beatles by attending the opening night of Let It Be and since then I have been enjoying listening to their music more than before.

Now I am excited to tell you about a new performance showcasing music and songs by John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney; Bed Peace: The Battle of Yohn and Joko which opens at The Cockpit Theatre on Friday 29th March and runs to Sunday 28th April.

The show marks the 50 year anniversary of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s famous bed-in for peace; when the Lennons took over a hotel room, campaigned for peace and sparked a movement.

In “Bed Peace: The Battle of Yohn and Joko”, 1969 is recreated and the show explores the power of peaceful protest, of the power of art as protest and of the circumstances that lead to the creation of some of the most important music of our time.

The audience experiences John Lennon-esque wit, fire and honesty, and Yoko Ono-esque spirituality, philosophy and mystery, plus ensemble story-telling, physical theatre and live music to help bring to life once more, the energy of 1969 and the Lennons’ mission to bring peace to the world.
