If you were to visit my house you would notice that I have a lovely laminate grey wood flooring and no rugs, other than a rug which my mother made for me on her loom which is in our bedroom and a barrier rug at my front door to stop my dogs tracking mud throughout the house!
I often consider getting something to add to the homely feel but fall short when deciding what sort of rug to get. I need to be careful because rugs can be slippery on certain surfaces.
There are quite a lot of decisions that go into choosing a rug, for example, the texture and style as well as colour and pattern to make sure that it complements the space. Do you want the rug to provide insulation and comfort? Do you want it to offer some practical protection for the floor?
Choosing a rug that suits your flooring and practical needs can be tricky, so check out this infographic from Land of Rugs to give you a better idea of the things you need to think about!
