You might remember that I recently visited The Mount Vineyard in Shoreham to participate in the annual Food Fest.
Whilst we were there we chance to take a quick peek at the menu at The Mount Vineyard Restaurant and decided we would have to come back to give it a try!
The Mount Vineyard produces award-winning still and sparkling wines which you can try at the restaurant alongside sharing platters and stone baked pizzas cooked in their very own pizza oven.
The Restaurant has a beautiful interior with a style combination of industrial and countryside with wooden chairs alongside sheet metal tables. The amazing retracting roof which makes it the perfect place to lunch on a sunny day.
We were warmly welcomed into the restaurant and decided to sit by one of the large windows which allowed us to look out onto the estate and admire the wildlife.
Having spotted a vegan platter on the menu I knew exactly what I was going to be ordering on our visit! The menu offers a selection of platters made up of meats, cheeses and ploughman-like sides along with six pizzas.
The vegan platter was made up of stuffed vine leaves, hummus, vegan cheese, apple, pickled red cabbage, salad, nuts and tortilla-like-chips. The deli platter was a mix of meats and cheeses, along with crackers, salad and chutney.
The platters are designed for people to share, however, they make a hearty sized dish for one to gobble up – the waitress promised us no judgement for scoffing a platter each. While we were there I saw groups sharing a number of the platters like a tapas style meal which looked like fun.
The platters were obviously made with good quality ingredients and had a really great range of complimentary items on them. I particularly enjoyed the vine leaves, pickled cabbage and hummus. Yum! My mum was equally taken with her selection of meats and cheeses.
I would definitely recommend The Mount Vineyard for anyone looking for delicious food and a great atmosphere. It’s perfect for a leisurely lunch or a night out with friends when you could sample their very own wines!
I award The Mount Vineyard restaurant 5 out of 5 stars.
