I have to admit that May is one of my favourite months because it has two bank holidays! Do you do anything special over the bank holidays? This month I have been invited to attend the Weald of Kent Country Craft Show and I am really looking forward to it.
Having grown up in rural Kent I attended many country shows as a child with my parents and sister where we got to see all manner of animals and farm machinery along with local homemade crafts, edible delights and live music.
I have been told to expect no less than this from the Weald of Kent Country Craft Show which is taking place on the beautiful grounds of the stately home Penshurst Place from 5-7th May 2018, open 10am – 5pm.
The Weald of Kent Country Craft Show is known as one of the most prestigious craft shows in the country. This year will see over 150 exhibitors showcasing a range of items for the home and garden from handmade furniture to beautiful handmade clothing.
2018 sees Country Homes & Interiors magazine attending for the first time and will be running a pop-up shopping marquee. Editor Rhoda Parry, says, ‘Our aim is to bring together a high-quality curation of our favourite small businesses that we know visitors will love. These include upcoming designers and makers, as well beautifully crafted gifts, home and lifestyle products from our favourite makers and brands”.
The weekend-long event also includes workshops, craft demonstrations, dazzling falconry displays and traditional fairground rides and play areas for children making it the perfect family day out.
Don’t forget about the dog! Four-legged visitors are welcome at the show. In fact, attendees will get to watch terrier racing with the grand finale pitching the top dog of the day against a hawk to see who’s the fastest!

What a fun event! I have never been before. The craft demonstrations sound really fun, and I’m sure the fairground rides will be a massive hit with children too!
This sounds so much fun! I would love to see the doggy parade 🙂
I LOVE county shows, there’s something about them that’s so nostalgic. This one looks great, I might have to look into planning one myself now!
I do love a country craft fair – mostly for the lovely food products to stock the pantry with.
Oh craft shows sounds like so much fun, I’m going to Edinburgh for may bank holiday which I’m looking forward to x
It sounds like a great way to spend your day! I love that it has plenty to offer from food to arts and crafts. It’s perfect for people with pets as well. I just love it.
We love heading to craft shows but not been to the Kent country craft shows, looks like it was a great event to head to. I am keeping my calendar free in May, hopefully we can head there.
This sounds like a fab day out. We have bank holiday plans already though! 🙂
Looks like a lovely place to discover new arts and crafts!
