I love matcha (you might remember I made my own homemade matcha ice cream not too long ago) and although you usually hear of people drinking it with hot milk in a matcha latte you can also enjoy this versatile green tea in the summer in an iced matcha latte! This method is so quick and easy you will be making your own iced drinks in the blink of an eye.
As a vegan, I prefer to make my iced matcha latte using plant milk but you just as easily use cow’s milk in this recipe. As I gave up flour and sugar 6 months ago I don’t sweeten my iced matcha latte but if you prefer you can add some honey or agave to add a bit of sweetness to this lovely, fresh drink which combines frothy milk and green tea taste.
Ingredients:
- 300ml of your favourite milk, I prefer almond milk
- 1 teaspoon matcha (make sure you buy ceremonial grade for the best quality)
- Sweetener of your choice (optional)
- Handful of ice
Method
- Combine the milk, matcha and sweetener (if using). I usually use my Ninja blender to make sure it is fully combined and as a bonus, this makes the latte really frothy and creamy!
- Toss a handful of ice into a glass and pour over your matcha latte milk.
- Enjoy!
