Review: Citrus Book Bindery Avalon Journal

January 31, 2022 in Lifestyle, Reviews - Micaela

I love stationery. I get a thrill from discovering a new pen that I love or a new notebook I can use as a Bullet Journal to keep me on track with freelancing tasks, household chores and events.

I came across the Citrus Book Bindery when I saw someone talking about their notebook in a Bullet Journal Facebook Group and instantly fell in love with their creative and beautiful book binding methods.

The Citrus Book Bindery’s mission is to provide their customers with stationery that fuels their creativity and reconnects them to the world outside of technology. Their goal is that every item that leaves the Citrus Book Bindery will be as beautiful as it is useful.

I had a browse of their website and spotted the lay-flat Avalon journal which features colourful stitching and contrasting accents against a water-resistant cover and I instantly fell in love with the exposed spine and rainbow stitching.

This type of exposed spine binding makes for a flexible notebook which can open completely flat from cover-to-cover which makes it perfect for Bullet Journalling as I am always drawing out layouts and having the pages perfect flat is a big help with this.

The Citrus Book Bindery offers a range of customised options for any order including the size of the notebook, how many pages, weight of paper, paper pattern and colour of cover. The notebook comes with dual elastic bands for closure and optional pagemarkers (ribbons), back pocket covers and corner protectors.

I decided to have my notebook made up in A5 size with 140gsm Cartridge Paper (192 pages) with a 5mm grid perfect for drawing out Bullet Journal layouts with the ribbon page markers, page numbers and I went with the Galaxy Iridescent book cover.

I really love my Avalon notebook from The Citrus Book Bindery. I find the flat-lay feature excellent for Bullet Journaling, the paper is of good quality with minimal ghosting through the pages and the design is just gorgeous.

The Avalon journal would be perfect for anyone wanting a quality and beautiful notebook for drawing, writing, sketching etc. I love the wide variety of options to personalise the paper, features and look of this notebook.

I am happy to award the Avalon Rainbow Notebook from The Citrus Book Bindery 5 out of 5 stars.
