I celebrate Mother’s Day twice a year, one for my Mother in Law who focuses on the 8th of March, International Women’s Day as per her tradition and again on the day recognised as Mother’s Day in the UK which happens to be today!
It’s easy to get stuck in a rut when it comes to gifts for these such occasions, we’re all told to buy chocolates and flowers or maybe a gift set or perfume from well-known brands. I would usually send my mum some flowers but as she (and I) have recently subscribed to a regular flower delivery service this seems a little redundant.
This year I have decided to treat us both to a Spa Day at the nearby award-winning Rowhill Grange Hotel Utopia Spa. It’s been ages since we have been to a Spa and this will be exciting as we have never visited the one at the Rowhill Grange before.
I have booked us both the Awaken Tailor Made Spa Day which includes a choice of treatments (up to the value of £140), use of the spa facilities including hydrotherapy pool, jacuzzi and swimming pool for up to 6 hours, either a 2-course lunch or afternoon tea and a complimentary skin care workshop.
We have both chosen to go for the My Kinda Skin Prescriptive Face Therapy facial where our skin will be analysed and treated with a menu of products specifically for our skin to either moisturise and nourish, soothe and calm, rebalance and hydrate, deep cleanse and purify or simply protect.
We have also chosen the Mediterranean Siesta Indian Head Massage which includes a head, neck and shoulder massage that promotes physical and psychological well-being, reduces muscular and nervous tension and improves circulation.
I am really looking forward to our spa day, I will be sure to report back!
Sounds so lovely. I never thought about doing a Spa Day with my mum for Mothers Day.
Hi Cassie, I am just back from the spa day and it was great – makes a great gift for mother’s day (especially as I get to be pampered too! haha!)
Sounds like the perfect way to celebrate- a spa day sounds perfect.
Thanks! It was really nice to get away for a few hours 🙂
Oh wow what a lovely sounding thing to do for Mother’s Day – I hands up admit I could definitely enjoy some pampering right now!
Haha I have to admit one of the major attractions was being able to get some pampering myself too! 😀
Sounds like a lovely day for the both of you! Moms definitely need a break and a spa day is the best way to do that. The spa you’re going to sounds amazing as well. Have a great time!
Thanks, Annemarie! I am just back from the spa and it was lovely. A great treat for me and mum.
Sounds like a beautiful way to celebrate the day. I went to a spa with my mum a few years ago for mother’s day and it was bliss.
Thanks for the comment Jemma. It was super nice to just chill out and relax together. A definitely mother’s day success!
Spa days are my favorite! They really relax you and help you stay in the moment!

I could not agree more, a spa day is a great way to celebrate Mothers day and an ideal time to catch up and create memories x
It sounds like a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day and International women’s day.
Well that sounds amazing, I really want to book a spa day. Look forward to hearing about the day, enjoy
Ahh a spa day sounds like heaven, that’s cool that your mother-in-law celebrates on international womens day! xo
I’ve always wanted to go on a spa day and every year I say I’m going to go with my mum but still haven’t lol
I think a spa day would be the perfect way to spend Mothering Sunday.
I think my mum would love a spa day, I normally do things like that for birthdays
