When it comes to keeping on top of house work it can be really hard, no matter your situation whether you have kids, or work a full time job it can be hard to find time or even the motivation to actually do it even when you have time. A tidy house is always a nicer house to be in so it is no wonder it can be depressing and annoying when your house is a mess and you just cannot get on top of it.
If you struggle with your house work and just keeping on top of it and making your home a nice place to live in, then these few tips may help you to get started on making a change to how you approach your house keeping and making sure you can be happier in the house you are in.
Try to clean little and often
Some people can just let their house get into a mess over the week and then just clean up on one day that week. That is not a good mindset to get into, what happens if you just don’t end up doing it that week or that you forget and get busy, your home will just get messier and messier and make it even harder to get under control. Just tidy a little bit each day and this will help you keep on top of it and stop it building up. Do the washing every day, do the dishes straight after use and try to tidy as you go while preparing meals or doing anything, as it’s easier to do it alongside what you’re making or doing than after it. This goes for just the little things you notice as well, if the tap is dripping then fix a leaky tap straight away or fix the curtains that have fallen down, doing it straight away is always the best policy.
Try to declutter your home
People can clean all they want but if they hoard or do not get rid of clutter your house is still going to look messy and untidy. You need to make sure you are getting rid of things you no longer need or stop buying things if you already have it. If you buy a new spatula, throw the other and so on. It can be so easy to just leave the other in a cupboard or a draw but that is taking up space and storage and making your home seem messier than it actually is. Try to get rid of anything you know you do not need and make sure you keep on top of it.
Try to work together
If you are in a relationship or have a family try to work together, don’t just leave it to one person. Make sure you do things together that way it becomes quicker and easier and it takes less effort. You can choose a room each to do and do that one then swap it around each week or something like that. If you do it that way then there is less for both of you to do as often.
